Introduction to the kettlebells course

Kettlebells are fast becoming a common and popular fixture in gym and studio environments.  They are a great way to develop muscular endurance, strength and functional core strength and are popular with clients.

This qualification is aimed at fitness instructors wishing to expand their knowledge, understanding and skills by offering kettlebell sessions.

Entry requirements for kettlebells courses

  • At least a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing
  • The course requires physical exertion therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.

Content of the kettlebells course

  • Historical background of kettlebell training
  • Benefits of using kettlebells
  • How to incorporate kettlebell lifts into an exercise programme
  • Safety considerations for instructing a kettlebell session
  • Design a kettlebell programme
  • Prepare for a kettlebell exercise session
  • Instruct a kettlebell exercise session
  • Demonstrate a range of communication skills
  • Evaluate a kettlebell exercise session

How you will learn on the kettlebells course

Learners will do a blended study approach.  The course duration is expected to last 1 month.

All Learners are supported with:

  • Manual
  • Workshop day

Learners will attend 1 weekday workshop / assessment day to achieve this Award.

 Students may be required to bring 2 participants to their assessment day.

Payment for the kettlebells course

Learners must pay in full via Cheque or Card at the time of booking.

Content of the kettlebells course

This qualification comprises of two units:

Unit 1 Planning a Kettlebells Exercise Session:

  • Worksheet

Unit 2 Instructing a Kettlebells Exercise Session:

  • Practical observation
  • Session review

Successful achievement of both units must be achieved for the full qualification.

REPs L2
  • Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells
  • It is recognised by The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 2.
