Level 4 Lower Back Pain

title

Lower back pain introduction

The qualification is intended to train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to prescribe, plan, conduct and review programmes to address the needs of patients/clients with low back pain.

This qualification covers a number of important topics across the two units, including the prevalence and epidemiology of low back pain, associated functional anatomy, and psychosocial implications, as well as detailed assessment and programme design strategies taken from key areas of research and clinical practice.

Low back pain affects about 1/3 of the UK adult population each year. This qualification represents a step in a direction that promotes a truly multidisciplinary approach to low back health in partnership with other professions.

Julian Berriman, Director of Research and Development at Active IQ, says: "As an exercise professional and an osteopath with 15 years of experience in treating low back clients, I believe this qualification is a must for any health and fitness professional looking to expand their skills and knowledge in offering evidence-based and effective exercise strategies for this specialist group. The qualification provides a comprehensive insight into the nature, impact and management of low back pain, and has been produced with input from a wide range of recognised experts, covering the physical, psychological, emotional and social implications of this debilitating condition."
