CMS has built a reputation as a highly respected name when it comes to fitness and vocational training, both in the Yorkshire area and across the UK.
Now the company is increasing its provision to make its courses even more accessible, ultimately resulting in an increased benefit to learners and also help businesses with staff training and development.
WEEKEND HEALTH AND FITNESS COURSES
By extending its popular health and fitness courses to include weekend training, the company is increasing the options for those who are looking to establish a career in the fitness industry, to be the best personal trainer or to move into a more senior role in this sector (see our blog on Dewi Ferrero – a career in fitness).
This can include personal trainers, fitness instructors, sports centre managers or those wanting to specialise in specific areas of health and fitness, such as sports massage (see our blog on Sports massage: the effects and benefits), lower back pain or weight management.
As well as running courses at the John Smith’s stadium in Huddersfield – home to Huddersfield Town football club and the Huddersfield Giants rugby league club – the company offers training at its new purpose-built gym. This is conveniently located at the CMS headquarters in the centre of Batley, close to Leeds and the M62 and M1 motorway networks.
“The additional provision at weekends is intended to accommodate more learners and increase the availability of training in the local area,” says Contract Manager Hadyn Luke. “With the availability of government funded training courses as well as a range of commercial provisions CMS offer, we’re hoping that this flexible approach will lead to an increase of up to 20% more learners over the next two years.”
NEW AAT PROVISION
Meanwhile CMS Vocational Training is now offering AAT training to complement its ongoing apprenticeship programmes (see our blogs on Apprenticeship Providers: All the same?, Accountancy courses and apprenticeshipsand AAT Accountancy Courses).
Working closely with up to 150 local start-up businesses and SMEs, CMS facilitates a range of apprenticeships in subjects such as Customer Services, Business Admin and Management (see our blog on What is a Customer Service Apprenctice?).
The AAT Level 2, 3 and 4 courses offered by CMS are recognised globally and can help students into a wide range of careers, from bookkeeper to credit controller to tax accountant. Students can study full time or part time, including some evening provision.
“Our commercial and government funded AAT courses are a great new addition to our provision and a popular route into employment,” says Hadyn Luke. “As well as helping learners, the aim is to reinforce the connections we have with local employers and to offer even more quality training for their staff.”
Delivering a wide range of government funded and commercial vocational training courses with flexible payment plans and funding options, CMS has helped over 400 learners across the region to progress in the last year, as well as help local employers to thrive.
With the success of 19+ Advanced Learner Loans (see our blog on 19 Advanced Learning Loans), CMS is looking forward to continued growth across both its fitness and vocational division in future years.
